Our History

Jan Yerkovich's first leanings toward philanthropy emerged through family tragedy. After her mother suffered a stroke, Jan felt so limited in her ability to assist that she contacted the Australian Neurological Foundation, soon becoming a tireless volunteer.

Subsequently, she moved into executive positions with the Foundation and other not for profit organisations including the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Western Australia.

Through a natural ability to facilitate, understand and manage corporate volunteers, Jan's career snowballed. By this stage Jan had also identified that governments could no longer afford to sustain services in areas such as welfare, education and health.

Recognising this need to assist public benefit organisations and educational institutions in securing their financial futures, Jan founded FMC in 1982.

For over 25 years FMC has established a national presence and today offers a full range of consulting services, enjoying an unrivalled reputation for assisting many different types of not for profit organisations achieve their fundraising ambitions.

FMC believes its singular success lies in its ability to work with such groups, developing their organisational readiness for fundraising, and assisting these groups to successfully communicate their objectives to the corporate and private community.

FMC firmly believes that philanthropy is not only essential but also increasingly the only way for not for profit's to survive.

Troy Yerkovich has now taken over the running of FMC under the name of Fundraising Management Consultants Australia (FMC Australia)and he will continue to run the company in the same professional and caring way Jan did.
