Aged Care
Building standards and capital funding
are critical issues facing Australia's residential aged care
industry. Australian Bureau of Statistics estimates are that 30
years from now, 21.3% of the Australian population will be 65
years or older. With this increase comes an expectation that
place numbers made available by residential aged care providers
will also rise. Coupled with Commonwealth Government
regulations ensuring higher quality building standards for aged
care facilities, significant capital expenditure is going to be
required to meet these demands.
Already government subsidies are not keeping pace with
unavoidable cost increases occurring over many years. And the
gap is widening each year. There is also growing community
sentiment that individuals need to play a bigger role in
managing their own retirement and care. This will translate into
growing numbers who are prepared to make a greater contribution
to such facilities to ensure they meet their expectations and
requirements.
Alternative fundraising methods need to be pursued to meet these
future challenges and Capital Fundraising has proven itself to
be the most cost effective means to raise funds for
organisations to assist with capital projects including building
construction.
