With an ever-increasing number of cancer patients
requiring assistance, The Cancer Council of WA recognised an
urgent need for the construction of a new accommodation and
support centre for patients undergoing treatment. Through a
partnership with FMC Australia, the Foundation successfully raised
$3.5 million to fund this need.
Today, the hostel, located in Nedlands, Perth Western
Australia, offers approximately 50 twin bed units and four
family units, enabling patient's family and friends to stay
together in times of need.
Thanks to overwhelming support from the corporate community
and the public, The Cancer Council of WA can now continue
its tremendous work with cancer sufferers and their
families.
